‘‘ரஜினி சார் கிரேட் மேன்! சுறுசுறுப்பு, பரபரப்பு மாதிரி வார்த்தை களுக்கு அவரை உதாரணமா சொல்லலாம். அதைவிட அழகு அவரோட எளிமை. எட்டு மணிக்கு ஷ¨ட்டிங்னா ஆறு மணிக்கே ஸ்பாட்டுக்கு வந்து அமைதியா ஒரு ஓரத்தில் உட்கார்ந்திருப்பார். அவருக்கான ஸீன் இல்லைன்னாக்கூட ஸ்பாட்டுக்கு வந்து என்ன வேலை செய்றாங்கனு வேடிக்கை பார்த்துட்டிருப்பார். அவர் சூப்பர் ஸ்டார். நானோ சின்னப் பொண்ணு. ஆனா, அந்தப் பயமோ,பதற்றமோ வந்துடாம சும்மா ஏதாவது ஜோக்கடிச்சு ஜாலி பண்ணி எல்லாத்தையும் ஈஸியாக்கிடு வார்!’’ என்கிறார் சந்தோஷமாக.


‘‘சந்திரமுகியில் நீங்க என்ன பண்றீங்க?’’

‘‘துர்கா என்னோட பேர். தழையத் தழையக் கட்டின சேலையோட, ரொம்ப ஹோம்லியா, கலக்கலா வர்றேன். அதுக்கு மேலே சொல்லக் கூடாது. ராஜ ரகசியம்!’’

‘‘எப்படிங்க இவ்ளோ அழகா இருக்கீங்க?’’

பட்டென்று நெஞ்சில் கை வைக்கிறார். ‘‘மனசு! எனக்கு மனசுல எதையுமே வெச்சுக்கத் தெரியாது. ஒரு விஷயம் பிடிக்கலையா... உடனே ஸாரி சொல்லிருவேன். என் கேரக்டர் அப்படி! திடீர்னு கரண்ட் போச்சுனா ‘ஐயோ, கரண்ட் போயிருச்சே!’னு பதறமாட்டேன். தடுமாற மாட்டேன். மெதுவா அந்த இருட்டை ரசிச்சு, மெழுகுவத்தி எங்கே இருக்குனு நிதானமா தேடற டைப் நான். இதுதான் என் அழகின் ரகசியம். மனசு லேசா இருந்தா எப்பவும் அழகாயிருக்கலாம்.’’

‘‘எப்படிங்க இவ்ளோ அழகா பேசறீங்க?’’

‘‘அதுக்கும் இது தாம்ப்பா காரணம்...’’ என்று மறுபடியும் நெஞ்சில் கைவைக்கிறார் நயன் தாரா. அழகான கழுத்தில் ஆடுகிறது ஒரு தங்கத் தாயத்து.

நம் பார்வை அதில் பதிவதைப் பார்த்து, ‘‘இது மலையாள பகவதி அம்மன் கோயில் தாயத்து!’’ என்கிறார்.

Sify : Brand Rajni shines!

Rajnikanth has proved once again that he is the biggest brand in Tamil films with the successful audio launch of Chandramukhi.
His detractors who had been shouting from the roof-top that the superstar charishma and pull has diminished were shocked by the kind of adultation the actor received at the Chandramukhi audio launch. At Chenna's Ritchie Street the wholesale market for electronic goods, shops that deal in audio cassettes opened at 6 am on Saturday (March 5) as agents took delivery of the audio.

Says Sanjay Wadhwa of AnAK Audios who are marketing the Chandramukhi audio: “At a time when audio market is at an all time low, the kind of reception that we got is overwhelming. We had manufactured only 1,50,000 cassettes and 30,000 CD’s, but by Sunday evening all the dealers wanted more stock by Monday!"

It is obvious that the audio is selling like hot cakes on the brand equity of Rajnikanth. At Chennai’s Music World 437 cassettes and 227 CD’s were sold on the first day! Compare this with the number one audio on the chart that has sold only 572 cassettes and 147 CD’s in 32 days after its music launch!

Rajnikanth is truly a phenomenon. He has not lost an iota of his mass fan base and is still the number one by a mile.

Chandramukhi Audio release: A night of goodwill

``நான் யானை அல்ல - குதிரை. விழுந்ததும் எழுந்து கொண்டேன்" என்று ரஜினிகாந்த் பேசினார்.

`சந்திரமுகி' விழா

சிவாஜி புரொடக்ஷன்ஸ் தயாரிக்க ரஜினிகாந்த் நடிக்கும் `சந்திரமுகி' படத்தின் பாடல்கள் அடங்கிய கேசட் வெளியீட்டு விழா, சென்னையில் நேற்று மாலை நடந்தது.

கேசட்டை பிரபல பின்னணி பாடகி ஆஷா போஸ்லே வெளியிட, பிலிம்சேம்பர் தலைவர் சுதர்சன சீனிவாசன், தமிழ் திரைப்பட தயாரிப்பாளர்கள் சங்க தலைவர் டி.ஜி.தியாகராஜன் ஆகிய இருவரும் பெற்றுக் கொண்டார்கள்.

ரஜினிகாந்த் பேச்சு

விழாவில் ரஜினிகாந்த் பேசியதாவது:-

``டைரக்டர் பி.வாசு இங்கே பேசும்போது, இந்தப் படத்தில் நான் அழகாக இருப்பதாக சொன்னார். வாழ்க்கையில் மூன்று விஷயங்கள் நம்மை விட்டு போன பிறகுதான் தெரியும். ஒன்று இளமை. இன்னொன்று ஆரோக்கியம். அடுத்தது நல்ல நேரம். இந்த மூன்றும் இருக்கும் போது தெரியாது. போனபிறகுதான் தெரியும்.

இந்த படத்தில் என் அழகு, மேக்கப் போட்டு செட்அப் செய்தது.

குழந்தையைப் போல்...

இந்த படப்பிடிப்பின்போது எனக்கு ஒரு சின்ன `டென்ஷன்' கூட இல்லாமல், சின்ன குழந்தையை பார்த்துக் கொண்ட மாதிரி, அன்பாக பார்த்துக் கொண்டார்கள்.

வேண்டுகோள்

சிவாஜி புரொடக்ஷன்ஸ் இனிமேல் வருடத்துக்கு இரண்டு படங்கள் தயாரிக்க வேண்டும் என்று ஆசைப்படுகிறேன். இது என் வேண்டுகோள்.

`சந்திரமுகி' படம் பற்றி இப்போது நான் பேசவில்லை. இந்தப் படம் வெற்றி அடைந்தபின், அந்த விழாவில் பேசுவேன்.

`ஜக்குபாய்'

`ஜக்குபாய்' படத்தின் கதை விவாதத்தின்போது, அந்த கதையில் `பாட்ஷா' சாயல் தெரிந்தது. இன்னொரு பாட்ஷாவை என்னால் கொடுக்க முடியாது. அந்த படம் செய்தால், பாட்ஷா மாதிரி இருக்கிறது என்று சொல்லி விடுவார்கள். அதனால் அந்தப் படம் இப்போது வேண்டாம் என்று ரவிகுமாரிடம் சொல்லி விட்டேன்.

அதன்பிறகு நான் கேரளா போனேன். அங்கே `கீதை' படிக்க ஆரம்பித்தேன். அதில் ஒரு இடத்தில் கண்ணனிடம் அர்ஜ×னன் சொல்கிறான். இந்த சண்டை வேண்டாம். இதில் கொல்லப்படுபவர்கள் அனைவரும் என் உறவினர்கள். அண்ணன்-தம்பிகள். அதனால் போர் வேண்டாம் என்கிறான்.

கோழை

உடனே கண்ணன், ``நீ அப்படி நினைக்கிறாய். உன் எதிரி அப்படி நினைக்க மாட்டான். உன்னை கோழை என்று கருதி விடுவான். இத்தனை நாள் வீரனாக இருந்த நீ கோழை என்று பெயர் வாங்க வேண்டுமா?" என்று கேட்பார். அர்ஜ×னன் கோழை ஆகக் கூடாது என்று சொல்வார்.

இதைப்படித்த பிறகுதான் அடுத்த படம் உடனே செய்ய வேண்டும் என்ற உந்துதல் ஏற்பட்டது.

யானை அல்ல - குதிரை

`பாபா' படம் சரியாக போகவில்லை. ஓஹோ... அண்ணன் ஆடிப் போய்விட்டார் என்று நினைத்தார்கள். நான் யானை அல்ல குதிரை.

யானை விழுந்தால், எழுந்து கொள்ள நேரம் ஆகும். நான் குதிரை என்பதால், உடனே எழுந்து கொண்டேன்.

நான் எதிர்பார்த்தது போல் `சந்திரமுகி' படத்தை ராம்குமாரும், பிரபுவும் சிறப்பாக எடுத்து இருக்கிறார்கள். தமிழ்ப் பட வரலாற்றில், இந்த மாதிரி படம் வந்திருக்க முடியாது.

இவ்வாறு ரஜினிகாந்த் பேசினார்.

ராம்குமார்-பிரபு

ராம்குமார் வரவேற்று பேசும்போது, இந்தப் படத்தின் பாடல் கேசட்டுகள் ஒரே நாளில் 2 லட்சம் விற்று தீர்ந்து விட்டன. 30 ஆயிரம் டிஸ்க்குகள் விற்று தீர்ந்தன" என்றார்.

பிரபு நன்றி தெரிவித்து பேசும்போது, ``எங்க அப்பா எங்களுக்காக விட்டுச் சென்றது நட்பு, அன்பு, பாசம், சந்திரமுகி படத்தில் ரஜினி அண்ணன் ஆக்சிஜனாகவும், தண்ணீராகவும் இருந்தார்" என்றார்.

ஆஷா பாடினார்

பின்னணி பாடகி ஆஷா போஸ்லே பேசும்போது, ``அத்தான் என்னத்தான்", ``பாலிருக்கும், பழமிருக்கும்", ``யார் யார் யாரவர் யாரோ" ஆகிய பழைய பாடல்களை பாடினார்.

கவிஞர் வாலி, டைரக்டர் பி.வாசு ஆகியோரும் பேசினார்கள்.

விழாவில் இசையமைப்பாளர் எம்.எஸ்.விஸ்வநாதன் மாலை - பொன்னாடை அணிவிக்கப்பட்டு கவுரவிக்கப்பட்டார்.

Emotion, goodwill and camaraderie flowed seamlessly at the Chandramukhi Audio release function tonight (Saturday night) as Rajnikanth, the film's hero, made it clear that he was ready for a major gallop after the failure of Baba.

On a night when adjectives quickly ran out of stock, it was left to Rajni to put things in dispassionate perspective. In a typical succinct speech Rajni likened himself to a horse as opposed to an elephant. "If I were an elephant my getting up from the fall due to Baba would have been difficult. But I am like horse, able to get up easily." Stating that he was very happy to do a film for Sivaji films, the superstar ended his speech with a triumphal "see you at the success function of the film".

Rajni, clad in a simple white kurta pyjama, looked fresh and ebullient. The cast of the film including Prabhu, Jothika, Nayanthara were seated on the dais.

Earlier in the evening, veteran singer Asha Bhonsle released the audio that was received by Rajni himself.

Asha Bhosle, speaking on the occasion, recalled her experiences with 'Brother Shivji'. She also spoke thoughtfully about her first film Amardeep with Sivaji Productions. Asha Bhosle also sang a few lines from some old Sivaji films and said she was a fan of P Susheela ("Latha Mangeshkar of South").

Ramkumar, Sivaji's, elder son, talked of Rajni's gentlemanly qualities and professionalism, Prabhu (who is also starring in the film) spoke about how it is a privilege to work with 'elder brother' Rajni, P Vasu, the director, about the rapport he enjoyed with Rajni and Prabhu.

Of course, every one talked of music director Vidyasagar as the 'man of the match'. To a person, they said that the six songs have turned out very well.

The audio looks to be on its way to a historical success. On the first day itself, all the 35,000 CDs and two lakh cassettes have been sold out. The cassettes priced at Rs 45 and CDs at Rs 99, are now over-booked.

There are six songs listed and all of them have different lyric writers- Vaali, Yugabharathi, Pa Vijay, Na Muthukumar, Bhavanachandran and Kabilan.

Earlier in the evening, veteran music composer M S Vishwanathan was given a special commemorative award on behalf of Sivaji Charities.

The star-spangled evening show, held at the Ball Room of Taj Connemara, was graced by a host of film dignitaries and Rajni fans.

Among those sighted were K Balachander, Editor Mohan, Vijay, Jeyam Ravi, Jeeva, and Sheela.

Rajni's family members including wife Latha, daughter Soundarya and the newly married Ishwarya were present on the occasion.

Dhanush, Rajni's son-in-law, was conspicuous in his absence.
